- Give us your medication + current pharmacy. By phone, text, our online form, or in person. Your pill bottle label is all we need.
- We contact your old pharmacy. We request the transfer of your prescription and any remaining refills, pharmacist to pharmacist.
- We fill it and let you know it's ready. Most transfers are done the same day. We can deliver it free anywhere in the neighborhood, or you can pick it up.
What to Have Ready
- Your medication name(s) — the pill bottle is easiest
- Your old pharmacy's name and location — "the CVS on 86th," for example
- Your insurance card — bring it the first time so we can set up your profile
- Your date of birth — to match you to your records
How Long Does It Take?
Most prescription transfers in NYC are completed the same day, often within a couple of hours. The main variable is how fast your old pharmacy responds when we reach out. If a medication is out of refills, we'll contact your doctor's office for a fresh prescription — we handle that too.
There are two exceptions worth knowing. Controlled substances (like certain ADHD or pain medications) have stricter transfer rules and sometimes need a new prescription from your prescriber. And a few specialty medications route through specific pharmacies. If either applies to you, we'll tell you upfront and walk you through it.
